About

For over 20 years, I have worked as a motion designer and educator. My portfolio of clients include Spotify, Anthropologie, Ralph Lauren, Target, Amazon, and Apple to name a few. I embrace combining traditional analog practices with contemporary digital media production to create work with a distinctive hybrid sensibility. I am a generalist with strengths in illustration, photo-collage, typography, 2d animation, 3D animation, compositing, and creative editing. In addition to working directly with clients, I also have strong relationships with a range of Creative Agencies.

One of my greatest joys is mentoring students and aiding them to achieve their creative goals. I am an Associate Professor of Design at Western Washington University. Previously, I taught for a decade at the Savannah College of Art and Design as Professor of Motion Media and 3 years prior at the School of Visual Arts in New York City. My textbook Design for Motion: Fundamentals and Techniques of Motion Design, outlines essential frameworks of concept and design development for Motion Design through candid interviews with generations of Motion Designers.

During my undergrad days at New York University, I spent countless hours drawing figures on the New York City subway. I also hold a graduate degree in Communication Design from Pratt Institute where I was introduced to the wonderful worlds of Typography, Graphic Design and Motion Design. With an insatiable thirst for knowledge, I completed a second MFA in Interactive Design from the Savannah College of Art and Design.
